“When people ask why I made this gift, I tell them nobody but my parents and the University of Kansas ever supported me, so of course I want to give back. The faculty was tremendous — aware of all the students’ needs and very helpful in getting people to reach their potential.”
– Elizabeth Scott, social welfare ’61, master’s in social welfare ’69
Elizabeth Scott
Elizabeth Scott, Independence, Mo., will create a $40,000 endowed scholarship in the School of Social Welfare. The scholarship will memorialize former professor Paul Brotsman, who taught at KU from 1949 to 1976. Her gift also will establish an opportunity fund to provide flexible support for the school. Scott established a $200,000 charitable remainder unitrust naming KU Endowment as beneficiary. A charitable remainder unitrust provides lifetime income to the donor and later benefits the donor’s chosen charity.
