  • Virtually all scholarships at KU are funded by private donors through KU Endowment. Scholarships help KU attract students with high academic promise and aid those with financial need. They are crucial in creating a student body that represents multiple geographic locations, academic potential and socio-economic backgrounds. KU provides a variety of scholarships:

KU general scholarships support incoming freshmen and students transferring to KU from community colleges. You may create a scholarship to support a particular type of student, such as those from a specific geographic area, high-achieving students or those who meet some other criteria.

School or department-specific scholarships benefit students in KU’s schools, departments or programs such as Study Abroad and the debate team. You can designate the area to support and the type of students the scholarships assist.

Scholarships for residents of scholarship halls assist the academically talented students living in one of KU’s 12 cooperative residences.
