The pioneers who chose the highest ridge overlooking the Kansas River valley as the site for the University of Kansas understood the significance of their decision. As they intended, “far above” has served as both a physical description and an aspirational symbol of KU for nearly 150 years.
Far Above: The Campaign for Kansas represents an unprecedented effort to realize the aspirations that guide our evolution. We seek to secure a leading position among the top tier of public research universities and academic medical centers in America. A towering presence should be expected from the state’s flagship university.
Intellectual inquiry at KU has never been more robust.
