I tried drawing, and moved on to pastels then painting and sculpture. Right now, I'm interested in expanded media and movement. I'm from Oklahoma, and I use red dirt in my work sometimes, such as brooms sweeping red dirt on graphite.
I like working with young students, especially freshmen. Teaching drawing is such a rich experience. You can see such a progression in the students over the course of the semester. You get them to open up about themselves and art. They are learning to see.
