Your support for the KU Natural History Museum — a unit of the Biodiversity Institute — comes at the most important time in human history for research and education at natural history museums. KU scientists study the life of the planet and document its fantastic diversity: plants, animals and ecosystems, many of which are threatened or endangered. From this research emerge the grand stories that are told through the museum’s exhibits, education and outreach programs. The Biodiversity Institute trains generations of students in the science of advancing this knowledge. Ultimately, their work will inform the stewardship of the planet.
The museum invites you to join its efforts by becoming a Friend of the Museum. You can become a friend with a gift of $20 or more. Every gift — small or large — makes a difference. Major gifts can establish endowed funds, which can be named for you or for someone you wish to honor. These funds provide financial support in perpetuity.
Our development staff will be happy to answer your questions and assist you in creating an endowed fund, setting up a planned gift or making another kind of gift. You can also use a credit card to make a gift online to provide:

Support events and exhibits that engage the public through science.
Science programs for children
Fund supplies, program development and bus rides to help children participate in field trips and hands-on science education.
