The arts are essential to the human experience. Each year, the Lied Center presents classical and contemporary work in music, dance and theatre from traditional and innovative international artists and attractions. The Lied Performance series is internationally acclaimed.
There’s nothing quite like a live performance. Your gift in support of the Lied Center of Kansas plays a critical role in the outstanding performances and arts education program available at KU. A premier performing arts facility, the Lied Center engages audiences of all ages locally and across the region through presentation, education, research and service.
The Lied Center provides a high-quality facility and environment for the educational and public programs of the university, the School of Fine Arts and the community. Performances at the Lied Center have included Broadway productions of Man of La Mancha, Riverdance and Hairspray; music by the Emerson String Quartet and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra; Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and Miami City Ballet; Ravi Shankar, George Winston and Yo-Yo Ma.
