Dole Institute of Politics  Make A Gift  Contact Us

Your gift to the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics can make a difference in the lives of people all over this country.

That’s because politics aren’t just about whether you’re a Republican or a Democrat, or you love the president or hate him. When such matters as war, terrorism or health care are involved, the practice of politics can touch everyone’s life. We can be more secure or less, depending on which foreign policy is followed. We can have greater access to medication and doctors, or less of what we need to keep well, depending on who wins an election. That is why the Dole Institute exists, and why its work is so important.

Established in 1997, the Dole Institute is dedicated to fostering new thinking about major policy issues. Working to encourage student and citizen involvement in public service, the Dole Institute is recognized as one the nation’s leading bipartisan centers for the civil discussion of politics.

During the 2005-2006 academic year, more than 10,000 people attended the Dole Institute’s programs. During its short history, the Dole Institute has already brought to campus many prominent figures, including former President Bill Clinton and former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.

Major gifts can establish endowed funds, which can be named for yourself or for someone you wish to honor. Endowed funds provide financial support for the Dole Institute in perpetuity.

Give to the Dole Institute’s unrestricted fund to help us build our endowment. Your gift of any size can help us expand and preserve:

  • The Dole Forum, which encourages civic engagement by young people;
  • The Dole Presidential Lecture Series, which explores the nation’s highest office;
  • The Dole Lecture, which annually brings a nationally prominent figure to KU;
  • The Dole Leadership Prize, which honors an individual or organization whose leadership inspires others;
  • The Dole Archives, which holds papers from Sen. Dole’s 35-year career on Capitol Hill and other materials.

The Dole Institute’s development director will be happy to assist you in creating an endowed fund, setting up a planned gift, making another kind of gift or answering your questions. You can also use your credit card to give now online and support the Dole Institute:
