Callahan Creek Presents $25,000 Scholarship Gift to KU Endowment

LAWRENCE, KS – Callahan Creek, the Lawrence-based marketing communications agency, presented two University of Kansas students with scholarships of $2,500 each as part of its 25th anniversary. The award ceremony ended a program that featured two top-level Anheuser-Busch executives speaking to the audience about “Marketing To The New Consumer.”

The two $2,500 scholarships were a portion of the total $25,000 scholarship gift that Callahan Creek presented to KU Endowment.

The scholarships were awarded to Sheila Wang of the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications, and Alexandria Schmidt of the School of Fine Arts. The event was held Sept. 10 in Murphy Hall.

Wang came to KU after nearly four years of service at Global Sources, a leading business-to-business media company and a primary facilitator of two-way trade with Greater China. She is working on her master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications.

Schmidt is in her sophomore year at KU, double majoring in Graphic Design and Business with an emphasis in Marketing. This year she is taking 21.5 hours and plans to work as an art director after college.

Callahan Creek is a full-service marketing communications agency focused on providing insights that inspire creative ways to build its clients’ businesses. Some of Callahan Creek’s clients include Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Sprint, CommunityAmerica Credit Union, American Century Investments and Chidren’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics.

The gift will be managed by KU Endowment Association, an independent, nonprofit organization serving as the official fundraising and fund-management organization for KU. Founded in 1891, KU Endowment is the first foundation of its kind at a U.S. public university.
