Alumnus Pledges $30,000 for Study Abroad Scholarships

An active alumnus has pledged $30,000 to establish study abroad scholarships for engineering students at the University of Kansas.

Donald Faught of Naples, Fla., and Red Feathers Lakes, Col., pledged $30,000 to KU Endowment for the Donald Faught Study Abroad Scholarship.

Faught graduated from KU in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He retired from DuPont in 2005 as vice president responsible for several global business units. He spent his entire career with DuPont in a variety of technical, manufacturing, marketing and business management positions. Faught worked for 10 years in Geneva, Switzerland.

That international experience is "why I have real value for supporting the study abroad program," Faught said.

Faught serves on the International Programs and School of Engineering Advisory Boards.
