Five Trustees Join the KU Endowment Board of Trustees    
The Board of Trustees of the Kansas University Endowment Association gathered for its 114th annual meeting on October 28, 2005, at the Hall Center for the Humanities on KU’s Lawrence Campus and elected five new trustees to the board, one of whom will hold the position of secretary.

Chancellors Club Scholars Named For 2005-2006 Academic Year   
Sixteen University of Kansas freshmen have received top honors as the Chancellors Club Scholars for 2005-2006. The Chancellors Club, the major-donor organization at the Kansas University Endowment Association, finances the renewable scholarships, which recognize National Merit finalists who have outstanding high school records. Eight students from Kansas high schools and eight from out of state have been added to the roster of Chancellors Club Scholars.

Physician Creates Scholarship for Alma and Osage City Students   
In 1949, Cal Engelmann, a graduate from Alma High School, sought out a way to afford tuition at the University of Kansas. Engelmann was befriended by Irvin Youngberg, then executive secretary of the Kansas University Endowment Association. Youngberg, who also was from rural Kansas, helped Engelmann find scholarships to attend KU.
