What is the first thing I should do to make a gift online?
You can start the online giving process in one of four ways.
- If you know exactly what you want to support, visit our Give Direct page to type the purpose of your gift. You can type the name of a fund if you know it, or describe the purpose of your donation (for example, journalism scholarships, cancer research or civil engineering). Click on the Make a Gift button to move forward in the process.
- If you want to read more about the university, its fundraising priorities, its units and their priorities, click on Support Your Passion. When you have decided what you want to support, click on the appropriate Make a Gift button. Those buttons are found at the bottom of each Support Your Passion page.
- If you want to search for a giving opportunity, use our search engine.
- If you want to review an index of all of your opportunities to give, click on All Giving Opportunities. Click on the unit or priority you want to support.

What should I do if I don’t see the program or department I want to support?
Go to Give Direct and type the purpose of your gift in the box, or scroll down in any Support Your Passion page and type the purpose of your gift in the box at the bottom.

How do I complete the online giving process?
At this point, you will be asked to:
- Set Details, where you will type the amount of your gift, any special instructions and answer some questions. Items in red are required. Click on the Continue button to move forward in the process.
- Provide Your Information, where you will type your name, address and other contact information, along with your credit card information. Items in red are required. Click on the Continue button to move forward in the process.
- Confirm & Pay, where you will see a copy of the information you have submitted (you can edit your information at this point). You can also answer an optional question to let us know how you learned about our website. Click the Continue button to confirm the details and to make your gift.
- Gift Confirmation, where you will receive an online receipt, a transaction number and approval code. If you have a problem with your gift, you can use these numbers as reference when you contact KU Endowment.

Is it safe to give online?
Making a gift online to KU is secure and private. KU Endowment employs SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology and 128-bit encryption to protect your personal information.

What does KU Endowment do with my personal information?
We use your information primarily to credit you correctly for your gift. Information contained in our records is used only for KU- and KU Endowment-related business. We do not sell personal information, nor do we use it for purposes other than the support of the university.

How much of my gift will be used by KU Endowment to fund its own operation?
None. We will use 100 percent of your gift for the purpose you choose. We cover our operating expenses with revenue from several long-standing unrestricted funds.
