Performance Objective

The portfolio is administered on a total return basis. Total return includes capital appreciation and income yield. Over the long term, the objective is to achieve a total portfolio rate of return that exceeds the rate of inflation, measured by the Consumer Price Index, plus the Long-term Investment Program's total spending rate.

Long-term Investment Program

This chart shows the total return for the Long-term Investment Program portfolio since the inception of performance measurement in June 1988. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future performance. Performance is net of external investment-related expenses (e.g., managers, custodians and consultants).
